Sales Engineer – Process Pumps (EPCC / Oil & Gas Sector)
The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and managing sales of process pumps and related systems to EPC contractors, consultants, and end users within the oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, and process industries. The role involves technical sales, project pursuit, and relationship management to secure product specifications, drive project-based sales, and support company growth objectives in the EPCC segment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Sales
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with EPCCs, consultants, and end users in the oil & gas, refinery, and process plant sectors.
Develop and maintain a strong project pipeline by tracking tenders, FEED studies, and ongoing projects.
Promote company’s range of centrifugal and process pumps for various fluid-handling applications.
Achieve assigned sales targets, margin goals, and market share objectives.
2. Project & Account Management
Build and sustain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including project managers, procurement, and engineering teams.
Ensure company products are pre-qualified or specified during the design and bidding stage.
Coordinate with internal departments (application engineering, service, and logistics) to ensure timely quotation, order execution, and delivery.
Monitor competitors’ activities, pricing trends, and market developments.
3. Technical & Commercial Support
Provide technical presentations , equipment selection, and performance calculations in line with process requirements.
Prepare and submit technical-commercial proposals , ensuring compliance with project specifications and tender requirements.
Support in technical clarification meetings , bid evaluations, and pre / post-order documentation.
Liaise with principals or manufacturers for technical support and product configuration when necessary.
4. Coordination & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and project status in CRM or reporting tools.
Provide weekly / monthly reports on sales progress, market feedback, and competitor updates.
Participate in exhibitions, seminars, and product demonstrations to promote company products and brand.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
Experience :
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in technical sales or application engineering related to industrial / process pumps , mechanical equipment, or fluid handling systems.
Proven track record with EPCC clients in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery projects.
Strong understanding of pump principles, hydraulic performance, materials selection, and API / ISO standards (API 610 preferred).
Familiar with project procurement cycle and tendering process in EPCC environments.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with CRM systems is an added advantage.
Other Requirements :
Willingness to travel locally and regionally.
Possession of own transport and valid driving license.

Achieving assigned sales revenue and gross margin targets.
Number of new project specifications or product approvals secured.
Growth in EPCC account penetration and customer satisfaction.
Accuracy and timeliness of quotations, reports, and follow-ups.
