Job description

The Service Desk Development program focuses on bringing ambitious, career‑focused individuals into the Global IT organization with the primary goal of developing future IT leaders. The program gives new hires the ability to work with all of PPG’s employees as part of our 24x7x365 Service Desk. New hires will utilize ITIL methodology best practices of Incident, Problem, and Knowledge Center support to provide customers with comprehensive IT service support. This is a fully work‑from‑home position with the ability to work out of a Regional Technology Center office on an as‑needed basis. Candidates must be fluent in both spoken and written English.

The Helpdesk Representative Will

  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
  • Handle incoming telephone calls, online chats, and emails for technical support.
  • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution for the customer.
  • Rely on instructions and pre‑established guidelines to help users and receive on‑the‑job training, yearly corporate training, and individualized training to grow personally and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or a discipline related to Information Technology (preferred).
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7x365 environment.
  • Willingness to learn PPG’s IT environment.
  • Ability to succeed in the Service Desk role while engaging interest to develop into other roles.
