Sr NPI Buyer

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for on‑time delivery per request to ensure supply continuity and keep inventory at reasonable levels. The role monitors and drives improvements in supplier performance, maintains internal and external communications, strengthens supplier relationships and supports purchasing assignments and planning of lower to medium‑value production materials with limited supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review Business Requirements Planning (BRP) reports and analyse suggested orders or alterations.
- Educate suppliers on performance measurements and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality and delivery performance against zero‑defect and on‑time objectives, working with logistics and related teams.
- Develop a good working knowledge of materials and supply sources to purchase at prices consistent with quantity, quality and cost standards.
- Acquire in‑depth knowledge of assigned commodities / suppliers, technologies, manufacturing processes, and related industries to expedite results.
- Purchase parts / materials using RFQ / RFI negotiation, contracts, cost analysis, price analysis and internal / external technical expertise.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with suppliers and internal customers, working closely with planning and demand teams to understand real demand and its fluctuations.
- Maintain daily communication with suppliers via emails, calls or conference calls to resolve delivery, DMR, GR, quality, payment and other issues.
- Maintain procurement system correctly and timely and complete purchasing assignments on schedule.
- Keep inventory at reasonable levels by negotiating push‑outs, rescheduling or canceling open orders.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health & safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S and duty of care policies.
- Co‑ordinate on NPI activities with the NPI project team and manage NPI parts execution, including RMA / DMR to suppliers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standard office environment with general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax, etc.).May require infrequent travel.Fast‑paced and pressurised environment.QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent organisational and negotiation skills.Flexibility to handle changing conditions.Strong self‑motivation.Excellent analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.EXPERIENCE
6‑8 years of experience in manufacturing or a new product introduction environment.Good knowledge of SAP.Experience managing or supporting a commodity group as coordinator or leader.Preferably several years of experience in PCBA or HLA purchase.Familiar with procurement systems and procedures, raising recommendations to improve efficiency.Proven communication, coordination and supervisory capabilities.Support purchasing manager in driving team results.EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Logistics, Material Management or equivalent education and / or experience.WHY JOIN US
