Offshoring Transition & Transformation Manager

Position Overview
Will lead the end-to-end transition of services, processes, and functions from onshore teams to offshore delivery centers. This role ensures that transitions are executed seamlessly, with minimal business disruption, while maximising cost efficiency, process standardization, and service quality. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in project / program management, change leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Transition Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed transition roadmaps, including timelines, milestones, risk registers, and resource plans.
- Manage knowledge transfer (KT), shadowing, reverse shadowing, and steady-state handover phases.
- Oversee process documentation, SLA alignment, and performance baselining before transition.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary liaison between onshore business units, offshore centers, and vendors.Build strong relationships with leadership teams to ensure alignment on business goals.Conduct regular steering committee updates, status reporting, and executive briefings.Governance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.), and local labor laws.Establish governance structures for transition and post-transition operations.Drive standard operating procedures (SOPs) and audit readiness.Change Management & Communication
Design and implement change management strategies to support people, processes, and technology adoption.Develop and deliver communication plans, ensuring transparency across all levels.Support training and cultural integration initiatives between onshore and offshore teams.Performance & Continuous Improvement
Define and track KPIs / SLAs during transition and stabilization phases.Monitor performance and proactively address service gaps.Embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in the offshore delivery model.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred).8-12 years’ experience in IT / Business Operations, with at least 5 years in transition or offshoring management.Proven track record managing large-scale offshoring transitions (finance, HR, IT services, logistics, etc.).Strong knowledge of outsourcing models (captive, hybrid, BPO / ITO), vendor governance, and global delivery frameworks.Familiarity with transition methodologies (Prince2, PMI, ITIL, ADKAR).Exceptional program / project management skills with PMP / Prince2 certification a plus.Strong negotiation and vendor management expertise.Cross-cultural communication and relationship-building capabilities.Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach.Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex transitions.High emotional intelligence and leadership presence.Future Outlook
