Associate / Assistant Manager, Finance (Accounts, Operations & System)

The role is to assist Finance Manager in leading a team of associates in Finance Operation with key focus on monthly closing activities, expenses allocation (i.e. allocation for management expenses, direct expenses, threshold allocation, agency related expenses and balance scorecard commission), bank and accounts reconciliations, daily operations activities and manage other assignments as and when assigned.
- Involve in the monthly closing activities and daily tasks by the stipulated timelines.
- Complete monthly bank and account reconciliations as per stipulated timelines.
- Ensure all reconciliations are properly reviewed and all outstanding items are itemized with reasons and actions are taken as specified in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) unless with valid reason.
- Prepare and review the monthly aging analysis for the bank and account balances. Ensure the balances are accurate and escape to the business users for their necessary actions.
- Ensure interfund settlement is settled on weekly basis.
- Perform / review and support financial closing activities within the stipulated timeframe.
- Perform / review bank and accounts reconciliations and ensure clearance within the stipulated timeframe, which includes liaising with various user departments.
- Perform / review and support daily finance operations activities (e.g. projection of cashflow, payment voucher coding, supplier bank assignment and etc.).
- Perform / review submissions to regulators (e.g. Bank Negara Malaysia, Registrar of Unclaimed Money, etc.).
- Assist in handling finance related queries and requirement from Group Finance.
- Implement processes to improve productivity and efficiency of finance operations and reconciliation.
- Review daily cash flow activities performed by the Cash flow preparer & Supplier maintenance.
- Assist in formulation, developing and ensuring the SOPs are reviewed and updated to reflect the actual practice on a yearly basis.
- To liaise with the bank for all outstanding payment or collection items that require further information from the bank.

We are looking for people who
Degree holder in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration or a recognised professional accounting qualification or recognised qualification in Life Insurance Operations (e.g. LOMA, MII)1-3 years working experience in Life Insurance / Financial institutions. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply too.Knowledge in accounting and systems including Oracle Financials Accounting system, FPMS system, Life Asia system, GS400 system and MBS400 system.Relevant computer application skills for e.g. Microsoft Excel, SQL, Microsoft Excel VBA, etc. would be an added advantage.Analytical Thinking, Interpersonal skills, Pro-activeness, Cross Functional Knowledge, Teamwork and cooperation, Sense of Urgency, Financial Transaction Processing, Information Gathering and AnalysisHow you succeed
