Job Description / Key Responsibilities :
Non-Performing Loan (NPL) Management
Monitor accounts classified as delinquent, default, or high-risk, and take prompt action to recover overdue payments.
Conduct root-cause analysis of non-payment cases and classify them by severity (e.g., short-term delay vs long-term default).
Recommend restructuring, settlement, or legal escalation depending on repayment capability and customer behaviour.
Collection Calls & Customer Follow-ups
Make daily outbound calls to delinquent borrowers to remind and negotiate payments.
Maintain detailed records of each call interaction, commitment, and next follow-up.
Escalate uncontactable or uncooperative customers for field visit or legal action.
Site Visit & Field Recovery
Perform scheduled site visits to the borrower’s residence, workplace, or guarantor address for verification, follow-up, or negotiation.
Trace and investigate customers who have become unreachable or provided false information.
Identify and report on asset ownership and financial condition during visits (for recovery consideration).
Documentation & Reporting
Ensure all recovery activities (calls, visits, commitments) are recorded in the system with supporting notes and evidence.
Prepare and submit daily / weekly reports on collection performance, NPL recovery status, and site visit out comes.
Maintain strict confidentiality and data security throughout the collection process.
Ensure recovery practices are in line with KPKT regulations, PDPA, and Moneylenders Act 1951.
Coordinate with legal officers on issuance of legal letters (Demand Notices, etc.) and assist in court documentation if needed.
Avoid harassment, intimidation, or unethical collection practices.
Negotiation & Settlement
Engage borrowers to agree on repayment schedules, restructuring plans, or partial settlements.
Propose waivers or late fee discounts where applicable, with management approval.
Follow up to ensure adherence to agreed repayment terms.
What You Need
Must Have :
Minimum SPM, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Law, or related field.
At least 1 – 5 years of relevant experience in credit control, field collection, or NPL recovery, preferably in a licensed moneylender or financial institution.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with client relationship building abilities.
Resilient, persuasive, and able to handle difficult conversations professionally.
Good to Have :
Experience with site visits, phone collections, and skip tracing.
Good knowledge of credit laws and regulatory requirements under KPKT, Moneylenders Act, and PDPA.
Able to speak confidently and assertively in Bahasa Malaysia and English (Mandarin / Tamil is an advantage).
Willing to travel for site visits, possess own transport and valid driving license.
Experience with LMS tools and sales management systems.
Basic understanding of legal recovery processes (LOD, court summons, etc.).
Field collection or enforcement experience in the hire purchase, personal financing, or micro-lending sectors.
