Inspection Engineer (Mechanical)

Responsibilities :

• Perform inspections of plant equipment and piping during on-stream and shutdowns using various non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as radiography, ultrasonic, and magnetic testing.
• Assess and review vendor and technical reports related to mechanical engineering design calculations in compliance with Codes and Standards.
• Investigate equipment failures, analyze issues, and provide recommendations for repairs and corrective actions.
• Supervise contract inspection technicians, contractors, and NDT teams during routine operations and Turnaround / Shutdown activities.
• Coordinate with the Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) for regular inspections and maintain the Certificate of Fitness (CoF) database.
• Develop, implement, and maintain equipment strategies for fixed equipment as per POIMS / RBI requirements.
• Lead QA / QC activities during Turnaround / Shutdown, including worklist development, inspection findings, and closure monitoring.
• Maintain and update inspection files, equipment strategies, and plant history records.
• Provide expertise in material selection, corrosion monitoring, welding procedures, and repair techniques.
• Stay updated on new technology and techniques in materials, corrosion, and non-destructive testing.
