Overview
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Site Supervisor will coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Responsibilities
- Site Supervision / Management : Supervise and monitor construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Coordination : Liaise with site / project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks.
- Schedule and oversee daily activities of construction crews.
- Quality Control : Ensure that all construction work meets the required quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the construction process.
- Conduct quality checks on materials and workmanship.
- Safety Compliance : Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks with workers.
- Ensure that all personnel on-site adhere to safety regulations and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Reporting : Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to the Site / Project Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including labor, materials, and equipment usage.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to the Site Manager / Project Manager immediately.
- Problem-Solving : Identify potential issues or risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or disputes that may arise on-site.
- Resource Management : Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery on-site are properly maintained and operated.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in construction site supervision or a similar role.
Skills : Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
Certifications : Relevant certifications in construction safety (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, CPR) are a plus. Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
The role requires working on construction sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and hazardous materials. The Site Supervisor may be required to work extended hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
