Principal Engineer

The purpose of this role is to lead engineering excellence in delivery for Digital Commercial squads. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for leading delivery for 2 squads of developers and testers, setting a high bar for engineering excellence and delivery.

This role will involve solution design for new features, and hands‑on coding to do POCs or reference implementations or assist teams with engineering challenges if required. You will work closely with business stakeholders and global and regional technology teams to understand business priorities, architecture standards and security policies.

For delivery, effective management of competing priorities across geographically dispersed teams, creative problem‑solving, resourcefulness, and superior communication skills are crucial to overcome challenges and manage key delivery risks while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship / coaching to Tech Leads and Senior Developers.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to develop innovative solutions.
• Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges and provide solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Ensure compliance with security and compliance standards.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
