Assistant Manager, Finance Reporting (GETB) (Job Number : C)

Job Purpose

To be part of the dynamic cross-disciplinary reporting team where you will support and participate in the management and financial reporting of the Company, including on-going projects and enhancements. You are expected to lead, analyse and optimise financial reporting processes, as well as to develop and implement automated solutions.

The Job

  • Leverage on tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources to support monthly financial closings, reporting (including but not limited to regulatory reporting to Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) or other related organisations) and reconciliations as per set deadlines.
  • Perform and support the preparation of statements of profit or loss, statements of financial positions and related disclosures including analysis and explanations.
  • Prepare and / or review the Group reporting pack and reports submitted by subordinate(s).
  • Involve in the analysis of business results and outputs from the MFRS 17 reporting system.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial automation processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
  • Analyse existing financial processes to identify areas for improvement and optimisation as well as create solutions to address those inefficiencies.
  • Reconcile and monitor retakaful transactions, holdings and balances owing (to) / from retakaful operators.
  • Report and monitor outsourcing charges, claims and expenses.
  • Support ad-hoc activities, projects and report or data requests / queries from various internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to tax agents and external / internal auditors.
  • Responsible to lead projects assigned from requirement gathering, discussions, UAT until completion of projects.

Our Requirements

  • Bachelor in Finance & Accounting / Actuarial Studies / Islamic Business or Finance
  • At least 3 years of working experience, preferably in the insurance / takaful industry
  • Good knowledge of local / MFRS reporting standards
  • A good problem solver and have excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure to meet project timelines.
  • Self-motivated and committed to drive the team towards achieving results.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, meticulous and detailed.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
