PHARMACIST (ONCOLOGY)

Team Leader role in ensuring pharmacy personnels understand and abide by all standard operating procedures.

Reviews and checks IV and oral drug prescriptions for accuracy, drug interactions and incompatibilities.

Performs drug reconciliation or drug order review for all prescription orders.

Dispenses take-home medications to the patients, ensuring accuracy of the medications and doses.

To counsel and advise patients on their medication regimens.

Sourcing and purchasing cytotoxic and non-cytotoxic drugs according to pre-approved par level.

Maintaining accuracy and managing of stock inventory in the Pharmacy.

Provides information to medical and other staff members about drugs, their various dosage forms and packaging.

Arranging import permits for unregistered drugs for the patient.

Performs and ensuring accurate charging of pharmaceutical drugs and medical supplies to patients.

Reporting in pharmacy meetings regarding all pharmacy matters.

Contribute to the overall quality improvement programs of the cancer centre.

Requirements :

Must possess at least a Degree in Pharmacy and registered with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia.

Possesses at least 2 years of working experience as a fully registered pharmacist in a similar capacity in a hospital.

Pleasant and friendly personality, good telephone etiquette, has customer-oriented attributes and high level of initiatives.

Able to multi-task and stay focused on every task, particularly during preparation of medication.

Able to work well in a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
