Process Engineering Manager

Job Overview

Overall, responsible for ME Assy, Front of Line, and Middle of Line / OSA assembly including optical alignment processes and passive attachment of optical components.

Responsibilities

Ensure process yield target and UPH target are met and controlled.

Manage current product ramp‑up, ensuring processes are ready, qualified, documented, and in control.

Oversee new product transfers from NPI to the ME team, ensuring processes are ready, qualified, and documented.

Conduct DFM and FMEA.

Perform in‑depth failure analysis and collaborate with internal and external support teams, including R&D, for any process or quality issues.

Lead continuous process capability / CPK improvement projects, yield improvement / scrap reduction projects, HPU / UPH improvement projects, and cost‑saving projects.

Manage the entire Assy, FOL, and MOL team, including technicians and engineers, and perform other activities as directed by the immediate superior.

Education & Experience

A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electronics / Electrical) or equivalent with at least 7 years of relevant work experience in electronics or semiconductor manufacturing, specifically in process engineering.

Experience in optical alignment or optical sub‑assembly is highly preferred.

Skills

Leadership capabilities to manage a team and drive improvements independently.

Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for problem‑solving.

Ability to work effectively with core team members of Coherent Corp.

Expertise in SPC, DOE, FMEA, and DFM.
