Manager, Finance

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the country CFO and functionally to the country General Manager and Regional Office Financial Control Department, your mission will be to manage and oversee all finance (AR / AP / GL), banking and taxation matters related to shipping agency, domestic service entity and carriers’ representation for Malaysia and Singapore agencies. Assist local teams and manage finance challenges, lead group project assignments, and present an accurate overview of the financial situation to management, regional office and head office.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the overall accounting function of the country shipping agency, domestic carrier entity, carriers’ representation and sub‑agent, including payable, receivable, general ledger and cost control in collaboration with local finance, regional finance and the Global Business Service team (GBS).
• Supervise the monthly accounting closing with the GBS team, ensuring completeness of bank reconciliation, clearance of payables and receivables, and proper accruals / prepayments.
• Plan audits and oversee financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and international accounting standards.
• Monitor and achieve performance measurements and core KPIs.
• Closely follow up on AR collection and credit management, keeping overdue % / DSO below target.
• Monitor monthly financial reporting to management, regional office and head office.
• Perform variance analysis and analytical review of financial statements; identify discrepancies and risks, and propose recommendations and action plans.
• Conduct weekly and short‑term cash flow analysis and forecast.
• Lead annual budget preparation and reporting.
• Act as the primary contact with statutory auditors and tax authorities to ensure timely financial reporting and finalisation of tax matters.
• Oversee overseas cash and treasury functions, including liaison with bankers on changes and requirements for overseas remittance and currency exposure.
• Coordinate and cooperate transitively with local finance teams, the GBS team and cross‑departmental stakeholders to resolve ongoing financial issues.
• Extend leadership and monitoring to domestic shipping entity reporting and accounting processes.
• Lead the financial statement audit review with external auditors.
