Operations Manager / General Manager – Manufacturing (Johor)

A leading global packaging and logistics solutions provider is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / General Manager to lead and oversee its manufacturing operations in Johor . This is a pivotal role for a results‑driven leader with solid experience in production management, quality assurance, warehouse operations, and customer service , who is ready to take full ownership of a growing site.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the site’s overall performance, profitability, and operational excellence , ensuring alignment with corporate goals, customer expectations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage end-to-end site operations, including Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Customer Service , to ensure seamless day-to-day performance.
Drive the site’s profit and loss (P&L) objectives through effective planning, cost management, and process optimization.
Oversee production planning, materials management, and capacity utilization to meet customer demand efficiently.
Implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing principles , such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Just-in-Time (JIT) .
Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485, UN) and all health, safety, and environmental regulations .
Work closely with sales, finance, sourcing, and regional leadership to achieve both operational and business goals.
Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Oversee inventory accuracy, warehouse performance , and logistics flow to support on‑time delivery and operational efficiency.
Identify and resolve operational issues proactively, maintaining strong customer relationships and service levels.
Provide regular operational performance updates and improvement strategies to regional and global management .

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration , or related field.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations or general management , ideally within industrial or packaging environments.

Proven leadership ability with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Deep understanding of production systems, quality assurance, and supply chain management .

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP or MRP systems.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.

Self‑motivated, hands‑on, and adaptable, capable of leading teams in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment .
