Health and Safety Coordinator

Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA), Factories and Machinery Act, and other applicable regulations.

Assist in preparing documentation and records for DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) audits and inspections.

Support in maintaining and updating the company’s Safety & Health policies, procedures, and manuals.

2. Risk Assessment & Safety Measures

Conduct regular workplace inspections and hazard identification activities.

Assist in implementing control measures to reduce risks and improve workplace safety.

Support accident / incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.

Coordinate safety training programs (e.g., PPE usage, emergency response, first aid, fire drill).

Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns to enhance safety culture.

Ensure new employees and contractors receive proper safety induction.

Assist in developing and maintaining the company’s emergency response plan.

Coordinate fire safety drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency equipment maintenance.

5. Reporting & Administration

Maintain records of safety audits, training, accident reports, and compliance documents.

Prepare monthly safety performance reports for management review.

Support Safety & Health Committee meetings and track agreed actions.

Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Possession of Green Book / Yellow Book (if required by law) will be an advantage.

Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a safety and health-related role (manufacturing, construction, or heavy equipment industry preferred).

Knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA, and DOSH requirements.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Ability to conduct safety training and awareness programs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.

Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
