- Job Description : Fit-Out Assistant Manager, Group Project Planning & Development
- Role Summary : To assist in managing and controlling all tenant and internal fit-out works within the landlord’s properties. This includes reviewing design submissions, ensuring compliance with landlord guidelines, and overseeing execution to uphold the quality, safety, and brand standards of the property.
- Key Outcomes
- The Fit-Out Assistant Manager is expected to ensure all tenant fit-out works are completed in accordance with the landlord’s design guidelines, safety requirements, and statutory regulations, without causing disruption to property operations. Design quality and brand consistency must be maintained to support the overall image and positioning of the development. All coordination and execution must align with the company’s direction, including its commitment to quality, tenant experience, operational efficiency, and long-term asset value. Clear communication, timely issue resolution, and proper documentation are essential throughout the process.
- Key Responsibilities 1. Fit-Out Management & Control
- Review and evaluate tenant design and renovation proposals to ensure compliance with the landlord’s design guidelines and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate fit-out timelines and approvals to ensure works are completed before agreed handover / opening dates.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor fit-out progress and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and technical standards set by the landlord.
- Enforce fit-out rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- 2. Interior Design Evaluation
- Assess and provide technical feedback on tenants’ interior design submissions including layout, materials, finishes, and brand alignment.
- Maintain consistency with the landlord’s design expectations for overall development aesthetics and positioning.
- Support in-house or consultant design reviews for common areas, amenities, or refurbishment works as needed.
- 3. Software and Technical Proficiency
- Use AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, or other design and visualization tools to interpret, mark-up, or present drawings and proposals.
- Maintain organized documentation of all approved drawings, submissions, and as-built records.
- Assist in preparing layout plans, coordination drawings, and conceptual presentations when required.
- 4. Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the liaison between the landlord and tenants, consultants, contractors, and internal departments on all fit-out-related matters.
- Provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to management regarding fit-out progress, non-compliance issues, and risk assessments.
- Assist in onboarding new tenants with technical briefings and walkthroughs of fit-out requirements.
- 5. Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, and construction detailing
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with local building codes, authority regulations, and fit-out standards
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for tenant and consultant coordination
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of design quality control
- Proactive problem-solving and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Organized and systematic in managing multiple fit-out projects simultaneously
- Qualifications & Experience
- 6. Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- Able to interpret and comment on technical drawings and design intent documentation
- Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese.
- 7. Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in property development, commercial interior fit-out, or landlord-side coordination
