AVP - Product Management Unit, Operational Risk Management at OCBC
Responsibilities
1. New Product Approval Process (NPAP) Management
- Facilitate and oversee the New Product Approval Process (NPAP) for both OBMB and OABB business units, ensuring smooth and timely product approvals.
- Manage all activities supporting the NPAP, providing guidance and coaching to Product Developers and Functional Specialists on process requirements and best practices.
- Promote knowledge sharing across cross‑functional product teams and support units to enhance collaboration and process efficiency.
- Plan and conduct quarterly NPAP training sessions to keep stakeholders updated on process changes and compliance requirements.
- Monitor the entire product approval workflow to ensure adherence to timelines and regulatory standards.
2. Reporting and Compliance
Prepare and deliver monthly reports to various stakeholders.Regularly report key risks and issues to the NPAC and management, including updates to the Board of Directors on approved products.Ensure timely completion of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) attestation to maintain full regulatory compliance.Monitor product reviews and ensure department compliance with all regulatory requirements, including the completion of Control Self‑Assessment (CSA) and Risk Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA).Conduct timely reviews of NPAP policy and procedure to ensure they remain up‑to‑date and effective.3. System Administration and Documentation
Administer the New Product System (NPS) approval platform, including management of product templates and oversight of the NPAP website.Provide secretarial support to the New Product Approval Committee (NPAC), including circulation of product papers, meeting agendas to NPAC members and their designated alternates for informed decision‑making and oversight.Prepare accurate and timely minutes of NPAC meetings and present periodic reports with key data, such as product approval status, to senior management.4. Departmental Administration
Oversee department administrative functions to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.Job Requirements
