The Accounting Manager undertakes the responsibilities to lead and oversee the daily operations of the accounting function of ISKL’s Finance Department, ensuring accuracy of financial records as well as maintaining compliance with Malaysian laws and regulations, as well as ISKL’s internal policies. This key role supervises accounting staff, supports the Assistant Director of Finance, and plays a key part in maintaining ISKL’s financial integrity and reputation. This role is expected to be passionate about being part of the contributing factors towards the continued success of ISKL through individual and teamwork efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES, inclusive but not limited to :
- Accounting Operations & Reporting
Managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
To manage the closing of the monthly and annual financial accounts and ensure the timely preparation of financial reports.Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and highlighting variances or issues for review.Accounting Compliance and External LiaisonEnsure compliance with ISKL’s accounting policies, Malaysian accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and coordinate effective liaison with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, bankers, and other relevant parties.Maintain and improve internal controls through regular process reviews.Process & Systems SupportSupport the Assistant Director of Finance in implementing process improvements and technology upgrades.
Contribute to accounting automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency.Staff Supervision & DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and support accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Foster a collaborative and service‑oriented approach within the accounting team.Other Specific MattersTo prepare the annual report for the US Government Grant and prepare requests for reimbursement of authorized expenses from this grant.
To manage and prepare the staff’s Retirement fund accounts for audit accurately and on a timely basis.To assist in the various committees, e.g., PTA, in matters related to funds, as well as advise stakeholders on maintaining the funds and the bookkeeping.To carry out any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance from time to time.Technical skills

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA) is preferred.Experience with SAGE X3 accounting software is preferred.Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Experience in non‑profit, education, or international organizations is an advantage.Procedures
