We are looking for a dedicated and detail‑oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The Pharmacy Assistant plays an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy, assisting pharmacists in dispensing medication, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the dispensing and preparation of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring that stock levels of medications and pharmacy supplies are sufficient.
- Ensure proper storage and labelling of medications in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist customers with over‑the‑counter medication inquiries and provide guidance on proper usage and potential side effects.
- Process prescriptions and medication orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy, including shelves, counters, and storage areas.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, managing patient records, and processing sales transactions.
- Assist in managing and tracking pharmaceutical stock, ensuring expired medications are removed and recorded appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations related to the pharmacy operations.
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient inquiries regarding medications or pharmacy services.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the pharmacist or pharmacy manager.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Diploma in Pharmacy or related field.Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail setting is an advantage.Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication management.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Detail‑oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical practices.Basic computer skills for processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and customer transactions.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Additional Skills / Requirements (Optional)
