Legal Counsel (Cryptocurrency Exchange) — Stealth Startup | Malaysia (Remote)

We’re a fast‑growing, well‑funded stealth startup building next‑generation trading infrastructure for global users. As we expand rapidly across markets, we’re looking for a Legal Counsel who’s excited to shape regulatory strategy, influence product direction, and build a world‑class compliance foundation from the ground up.

This is a high‑impact role with direct access to founders and senior leadership — ideal for someone who wants to grow fast, lead regional initiatives, and be a key decision‑maker in a frontier industry.

What You’ll Do

• Be the strategic advisor to leadership and product teams on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Drive the regulatory roadmap for cryptocurrency products (spot, futures, custody), helping shape how we expand responsibly and aggressively.
• Own and build the compliance framework — user agreements, T&Cs, KYC / AML, licensing processes, data protection policies.
• Partner with regulators, external counsel, and industry stakeholders to advocate for compliant innovation and maintain strong regulatory relationships.
• Lead legal due diligence for new markets, product launches, and partnerships , ensuring risk is well‑managed while enabling fast growth.
• Review commercial contracts, customer agreements, vendor relationships, and marketing materials , ensuring they align with global standards.
• Identify legal risks early and design scalable processes that support a rapidly growing regional business.
