Position Summary
The Pricing Desk Specialist is a pivotal role within the CRF Vertical, responsible for the end-to-end preparation of competitive and accurate spot freight quotations. This role demands a high level of responsiveness, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding freight forwarding operations. The primary objective is to support the sales team by delivering timely, competitive, and winning quotes that secure new business and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Quotation Preparation & Management
Prepare comprehensive spot freight quotations, including detailed breakdowns of origin charges, freight charges, and destination charges.
Receive and process quotation requests from the CRF Vertical sales team, ensuring a clear understanding of customer requirements.Manage the entire quotation process with a strict adherence to the 24-hour KPI timeline, from request receipt to final submission.Stakeholder Coordination & Cost CollectionProactively communicate and coordinate with internal PSA BDP teams across different origins, destinations, and product verticals (Air, Ocean, etc.) to request and collect necessary cost components.
Diligently follow up and chase relevant teams for cost inputs to ensure the 24-hour KPI is met.Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal operational and product teams.Market Analysis & Rate ValidationValidate all collected costs for accuracy, reasonableness, and competitiveness against known market rates.
Utilize industry knowledge and market intelligence to ensure final quotes are strategically priced to win business while maintaining profitability.Provide recommendations to the sales team on pricing strategy based on market conditions.Customer Interface & System ManagementFor designated customers, utilize and navigate customer-specific quotation systems / portals for the accurate and timely submission of quotes.
Ensure all customer-specific formatting and data requirements are met during submission.Post-Quotation SupportFor successfully won quotations, facilitate a smooth handover by coordinating with the relevant operations teams to arrange the shipment.
As required, update and maintain shipment milestones in customer tracking systems to ensure full visibility and transparency for the customer.Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 1 year of direct experience in a freight forwarding quotation, pricing, or operational role.Solid understanding of end-to-end freight forwarding business, including incoterms, documentation, and operational processes for Air, Ocean (FCL / LCL).Proven experience in calculating and analyzing freight costs (origin, main carriage, destination).Experience using customer-facing portals or quotation systems is an advantage.Familiarity with the PSA BDP internal structure and systems is an advantage.Exceptional Communication : Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and chase for information across different teams and time zones.Results-Driven & Proactive : A self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.Analytical Mindset : Ability to analyze cost data, compare it with market rates and previous quotes, and make sound pricing decisions.High Attention to Detail : Meticulous in data entry and quote compilation to prevent errors.Organizational Skills : Excellent ability to manage multiple quotation requests simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.Problem-Solving : Ability to identify issues in cost collection or quotation competitiveness and propose effective solutions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
