Role Introduction
To ensure Cathay attracts, selects and brings on board the right people for our operations and the Cathay culture, whilst providing an excellent candidate experience. To be an expert in recruitment and the Cathay selection processes, tools and techniques and have a strong ability to support line managers with excellent selection decisions and nurture talent through the recruitment and selection process.
To drive and execute the talent management framework for the region and work with the business units to build succession plans.
Key Responsibilities
- People Management – Lead the talent acquisition & talent management team to deliver the talent acquisition & talent management agenda for the region and ensure alignment to global / region People strategy.
- Talent Attraction and Employer Branding – Execute a professional, brand‑enhancing candidate experience through all recruitment and selection cycle touchpoints; act as a brand ambassador for the airlines; collaborate with various Reg PPL team; participate in HR / talent acquisition projects as required.
- Recruitment and Selection Process Excellence – Manage end‑to‑end recruitment and selection processes; be the expert in recruitment tools; conduct effective shortlisting; prioritize roles and optimise time to fill; design and conduct interview and assessment centres; administer psychometric tests and provide insights; coordinate overseas hires, internal transfers, secondments; ensure compliance with background checks; conduct reference checks for senior roles; lead offer process; manage graduate, internal promotion programmes; be expert in local legislation regarding recruitment and selection.
- Line Manager Support – Review job descriptions and ensure effective posting; interpret test results, shortlists, interviews and assessment centre performance; provide a sounding board on candidate performance and cultural fit; provide impartial and fair assessments.
- Onboarding – Work closely with People Operation teams to deliver the onboarding process; guide People Operations on the Brushwinger platform; ensure all onboarding administration is completed and well documented.
- Build a High‑Performance Culture and Advance the Talent Management Agenda – Own performance management and the Annual Talent Review process; partner with Regional Comms, Eng & Development team; provide coaching; deliver tools and training; support local teams.
- Career Planning – Identify talent; collaborate on Annual Team & Talent processes; partner with Regional Comms, Engagement & Development; conduct focus groups; ensure succession planning; manage identified talent; liaise with Performance & Data Insights; identify career path planning; ensure coverage plans for at‑risk roles; provide updates to Regional Head of People; handle additional projects.
- E&A – Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required.
Academic Qualifications
A degree in Human Resources or a related field is an advantage.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Knowledge
At least 8 years’ experience in recruitment and selection processes in a cross‑country environment.Airline experience is an advantage.Strong cultural sensitivity with high cross‑cultural communication ability.Demonstrably good judgment and ability to remain impartial.Strong knowledge of SEA&O countries legislation related to recruitment and selection.Strong customer service orientation.Efficient and able to manage multiple priorities.Excellent stakeholder engagement and management ability.Continuous improvement mindset.A high degree of technological ability.Benefits
