Senior Associate – Tax Dispute Resolution
A career within Tax services offers you the opportunity to help clients meet and manage tax obligations across changing specialties. You will advise on local and overseas tax affairs, act as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, manage indirect taxes, dispute resolution and global enterprise tax solutions.
Our team helps clients identify and reduce tax risks, meet compliance obligations, implement tax strategies that complement business and operational objectives, resolve disagreements with tax authorities and manage tax accounting and reporting issues. You will be engaged in projects dealing with international tax, M&A, state and local tax accounting, regulatory processes, tax reporting and strategy.
Responsibilities
- The role will involve dealing with all tax enquiries and investigations from early stage introduction to settlement of tax dispute.
- Manage the tax audit / investigation process proactively to mitigate client tax risks.
- Advise the client on tax audit / investigation issues and implications.
- Prepare information / documentation and review documents for submission to tax authorities.
- Present and explain the company's position on issues raised or documents submitted.
- Research tax legislation and case law.
- Shorten investigation period through satisfactory resolution of issues between client and authorities.
- Discuss overall strategy on finalisation and settlement of client tax dispute.
