Plant General Manager – Chemical Manufacturing

Our client, a reputable chemical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) to lead overall operations at its Johor Bahru plant. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong production and technical grounding, capable of managing plant performance across cost, efficiency, manpower, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall plant operations across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, HR, Supply Chain, and EHS.
• Drive core performance KPIs : cost / ton, headcount productivity, consumption, OEE, yield, downtime.
• Ensure stable, safe, and compliant plant operations in line with regulatory and corporate standards.
• Oversee technical and production functions including process optimization, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
• Implement cost control, budgeting discipline, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and develop strong cross‑functional teams, driving a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
