Mechanical Engineer (Associate) - Data Centre
Lead mechanical design for building projects with key Data Centre design competencies
Manage and co-ordinate project deliveries via review and approval of drawings, calculations & technical reports in accordance with quality procedures
Manage a team of engineers ensuring quality deliverables and conducting training and performance reviews
Contribute to business development opportunities where possible, assist in proposal preparation and tender submissions
Professional endorsement of drawings for submission to local authorities / authorities under jurisdiction
Implement QA / QC processes for mechanical engineering works
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Be a Chartered mechanical Engineer / Professional engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) issued by Board of Engineers, Malaysia
- Possess extensive experience of working within a consulting environment
- Have experience of major and complex Data Centre projects with Uptime Institute Tier Certification for Design Documentation (TCDD) & Constructed Facility (TCCD)
- Have a sound understanding of project management, risk assessment process and other international standards
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in M&E consulting firm, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role (e.g., Principal Engineer, Team Lead, or HOD)
- Strong design background in HVAC, fire protection, cold water & sanitary plumbing, and mechanical systems design for buildings
- Experience in local Malaysian projects, familiarity with local authority submissions
- Proven track record in managing teams, project delivery, and client / stakeholder coordination
- Competency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP (BIM) and CFD simulation software are pluses
- Knowledge of MS Project / Primavera project scheduling
