The Technician will play an essential role in maintaining the College’s facilities through daily maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks across various systems. They will support troubleshooting, inspections, and event setups while ensuring safety, efficiency, and teamwork in all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations : Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily maintenance and repair works across the school campus, ensuring tasks are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
- Task Assignment : Assign and monitor daily tasks for Technicians, ensuring clear instructions, timely completion, and accountability, including electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, carpentry, painting, masonry, and basic building repairs.
- Defect Reporting Site Monitoring : Regularly monitor the school’s defect reporting platform to review new maintenance requests, assign tasks promptly, update work progress, and close completed jobs.
- Preventive Maintenance (PPM) : Assist the AFM in implementing and tracking the school’s PPM plan; schedule periodic maintenance for key systems and equipment, and respond promptly to defect reports and ensure all maintenance work is completed efficiently and recorded accurately.
- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate logs of work orders, completed tasks, outstanding issues, and service records of equipment.
- Inventory Management : Track stock levels of tools, spare parts, and consumables; initiate restocking requests and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Facility Inspection : Conduct routine inspections of school buildings, classrooms, workshops, and outdoor facilities to identify potential issues early.
- Contractor Coordination : Assist the AFM in supervising external contractors, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of contracted works.
- Health & Safety : Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety procedures; promote safe work practices and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
- Emergency Support : Respond to emergency response or after-hours call-back duties when required to address urgent maintenance issues.
- Reporting : Provide daily or weekly updates to the AFM, detailing maintenance activities, manpower allocation, defect status, and material usage.
- Training & Development : Support training and mentoring of Technicians to improve skills and ensure effective teamwork.
- Customer Service : Foster good working relationships with academic and administrative staff by addressing maintenance concerns professionally and promptly.
- Efficiency and Cost Management : Carry out maintenance and repair works efficiently, ensuring proper use of materials, tools, and spare parts to minimise waste and control costs.
