Compliance Director (Insurance)

My client is a leading insurance company with a strong global presence. As they continue to expand their operations in Asia, we are seeking an experienced Compliance Director to join the team.

As a Compliance Director, you will lead the compliance function for the Malaysia entity. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company's adherence to local regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices, while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement 'fit-for-purpose' compliance frameworks, strategies, governance structures, policies, and processes for the Malaysia entity
• Serve as the liaison officer with Bank Negara Malaysia and other regulatory bodies, managing filings, notifications, and investigations
• Develop and maintain local compliance protocols and deliver training on legal and compliance topics
• Oversee compliance review and approval processes, including AML, entertainment requests, and third‑party arrangements
