Role Overview
Under the direction of the Security Manager and Security Director, the Team Lead, Facilities Security will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of the NTT Data Center physical infrastructure, equipment, and personnel. The Site Security Senior Associate Specialist will work closely with the Data Center Operations Team (DCOPS) to ensure that security measures are in place and functioning properly at an assigned data center location. The Team Lead, Facilities Security will provide regular daily supervision and support to a team of dedicated Security Officers and Shipping and Receiving staff. The Team Lead, Facilities Security is responsible for the safety and protection of executive employees and other high-risk individuals who visit the data center. The role also supervises day-to-day operations and enforces security protocols. The Team Lead, Facilities Security manages a team of security and shipping and receiving officers. The role will also be to manage employees’ performance, career planning, learning and development. Team Lead, Facilities Security will serve as an SME (subject matter expert) for access control systems, alarms, and surveillance platforms. The Team Lead, Facilities Security will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of NTT security procedures, as designed by NTT GDC Security leadership to meet required codes, regulations, and in alignment with company policies. Additionally, the Team Lead, Facilities Security will review and analyze loss control, incident reports, coordinate and administer security clearances, prepare, and maintain all required security manuals in coordination with external and interdepartmental parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises daily operations for a team of Security Officers; includes regular duties such as planning, scheduling, submitting timesheets, organizing, and directing execution of routine and special project work delegated by Security leadership.
- Identify and attract talent by partnering in the recruitment process, assessing qualifications, interviewing candidates, and hiring individuals to join the team.
- Contribute and support the development, implementation, and enforcement of security protocols, policies, and procedures to protect the data center, assets, and personnel.
- Coach and guide Security staff by modeling professional conduct, adhering to security policies and safety regulations, and by overseeingthe team's performance management at the assigned work sites.
- Process quarterly promotions with the collaboration of regional managers and site managers.
- Guide team members on how to fulfill the special / unique requirements for NTT GDC clients, and ensure requirements are met; includes maintaining a positive and professional demeanor, proper engagement, and establishing client relationships.
- Monitor security operations at all times during shift to ensure data center and surrounding property are secured
- Manage security compliance through audits in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinates Security vendor onboarding training in partnership with Deployment Services and Critical Facilities Operations.
- Act as the first point of contact during security incidents.
- Conducts investigations at the direction of management, gather evidence, and prepare incident reports.
- Administers the operation of all security related systems on shift, such as access control, CCTV, digital video recording, photo badging, etc.
- Prepares and reviews periodic security reports to clients and internal leadership.
- Organizes and conducts predefined actions in emergencies and renders first aid, in events ranging from fire, and work accidents, to illness.
- Manages the procurement of essential equipment spares and office supplies for designated staff and shift; this includes maintaining inventory levels and resources are readily available to support the team’s effective performance and daily operations.
- Recommends improvements to recordkeeping software to capture accurate security officer activities.
- Ensure all Security Officers on shift meet all NTT GDC dress code and Uniform Standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned, and regular, predictable attendance is essential.
Knowledge and Skills
Familiarity withsecurity process and leadership, preferably in a data center or critical infrastructure environment.Knowledge of physical security systems, access control, surveillance technologies, and incident response procedures.Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, and HIPPA.Knowledge of OSHA and safety rules.Leadership skills with the ability to learn to motivate and manage a team effectively.Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.Good communicator, with ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to function in stressful situations, remaining calm while making critical decisions.Familiar with occupational hazards and safety rules.Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as security management, criminal justice, or a related discipline, is preferred.To be able to written and verbal communication skills in the English language.2 – 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of work experience and occupational training / certifications.Prior Law-Enforcement and / or Military leadership, a plus.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a security position experience in law enforcement, industrial, commercial, or governmental security and loss prevention.Internal candidates must have held a Security Officer L2 (Level 2) or L3 (Level 3), and / or Shipping and Receiving position, and held previous position for 6 months.Physical Requirements
