Senior Database administrator

We are seeking an experienced Senior DBA to manage the design, implementation, performance, and security of our database systems. The role involves handling complex projects, optimizing performance, ensuring data security, and supporting disaster recovery across platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and more. The candidate will lead BAU activities, guide junior DBAs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day database operations, support service requests, and handle incident tickets.

Design, implement, and optimize database structures and performance.

Develop and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.

Ensure data security through access controls, encryption, and patch management.

Monitor and tune database performance, addressing bottlenecks.

Plan capacity and support database migrations and upgrades.

Maintain documentation, ensure compliance, and participate in audits.

Guide and mentor junior DBAs and coordinate with stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Certifications : Oracle Certified Professional (OCP); MySQL DBA or Microsoft certifications are a plus.

Proven experience as a Senior DBA or similar role.

In-depth knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, Yugabyte, MariaDB.

Expertise in performance tuning, backup / recovery, security, and cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL).

Strong SQL, scripting (Python, Bash), and automation skills.

Hands‑on experience with OEM, OCI, Exadata, and migration tools.

Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
