  • Kulliyyah (Faculty) : Kulliyyah of Pharmacy

Scope : The officer shall be a member of the staff of the Kulliyyah / Centre / Department to which he is assigned by the IIUM and shall perform teaching, examining, and research duties and such other obligations as are normally required of an academic staff member of the IIUM. The officer should also undertake moral and religious obligations in relation to his colleagues and students as part and parcel of his duties as a member of the academic staff.

The officer shall attend meetings of IIUM Authorities, Boards and Committees to which he, being an academic staff member, may be appointed as a member by virtue of the IIUM Constitution or any Statutes or Acts, or of any administrative actions of the Rector, Dean or Head of the Kulliyyah / Centre / Department. The officer is also expected to participate in the general life of the IIUM community, advise and guide students in relation to their character, behaviour and moral conduct. He is not only a teacher (Mu’allim), a scholar ('Alim) but also a moral educator (Murabbi).

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development : Design and update comprehensive Pharmacy Practice / Clinical Pharmacy courses that reflect the latest industry trends and academic standards.
  • Teaching Excellence : Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions across a variety of Pharmacy Practice subjects, incorporating cutting‑edge technologies and software.
  • Student Assessment : Create and evaluate examinations, assignments, and projects to gauge student knowledge and skills, providing constructive feedback.
  • Research Contribution : Conduct and publish impactful research in the Pharmacy Practice / Clinical Pharmacy field and supervise student research projects and theses.
  • Professional Development : Remain current with technological advancements and pedagogical strategies through continued education and active participation in academic communities.
  • Community and Industry Engagement : Collaborate with industry experts to ensure curriculum relevance and foster opportunities for student placements.
  • Mentorship : Offer academic advice and personal mentorship to students, guiding them towards academic and professional success.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised university.
  • Candidates must hold a Master’s in Pharmacy Practice / Clinical Pharmacy from a recognised university.
  • This appointment is restricted to Malaysian applicants. International candidates are invited to apply for other posts (when available / applicable), consistent with our goal of building a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
  • Minimum Competencies - A blend of academic qualifications, teaching abilities, research skills, and personal attributes that enable effective education delivery, student engagement, and contributions to the academic community. Hospital or community pharmacy setting experience is compulsory.

  • Other Requirements
  • Candidates must possess a strong foundation and knowledge in Pharmacy Practice / Clinical Pharmacy.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong track record of published research and participation in the academic community is highly desirable.
  • Language Qualifications : Candidates must have obtained credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent recognised by the Government for Malaysian citizens.
  • IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidates without these qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.
