Job Summary :
MSR Green Energy Sdn. Bhd. ("MSR-GE") is a leading renewable energy developer specialising in the delivery of utility-scale solar projects across Malaysia. We are seeking a qualified and committed Safety & Health Officer (SHO) to oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance for our Large Scale Solar (LSS) project based in Sabah. This is an 18-month contract role, ideal for candidates with prior experience in construction or infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe work environment, full regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in safety practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement, monitor, and enforce the project's HSE management system in compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards
- Conduct daily toolbox briefings, site safety inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with statutory and project HSE requirements
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures in coordination with project managers and site teams
- Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure all workers, contractors, and subcontractors are properly briefed, trained, and compliant with HSE policies and procedures
- Liaise with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), local authorities, and other relevant agencies on all statutory matters
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including permits, reports, incident logs, and safety documentation
- Support the implementation of Emergency Response Plans (ERP), including drills, first aid, and crisis management readiness
- Promote a strong safety culture by actively engaging workers and management in continuous improvement initiatives
About You :
To succeed in this role, you will bring :
A valid Green Book (SHO certification) registered with DOSH (mandatory)Minimum 4–6 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projectsStrong knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation, regulations, and industry best practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage contractors, workers, and stakeholders at all levelsProactive, disciplined, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently on-site in SabahExperience in LSS or renewable energy projects will be a strong advantageFamiliarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other integrated management systems is preferred
