Job Description
Responsible for following detailed instructions provided by the superior of their section and operational / standard procedures competently on the sample preparation activity.
- Perform and understand sample preparation for minerals, coal / biomass, fertilizers and other commodities.
- Conduct fire assay for exploration samples.
- Update equipment and maintenance records.
- Update superior on a daily basis for operation and any problems encountered during the work task and take preventive measures.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment and other apparatus needed in the work task.
- Ensure necessary data are correct & organized.
- Perform basic physical laboratory tests as per approved test method or procedures.
- Practice good housekeeping in the work area.
- Ensure that all HSE / Operational Integrity requirements are met.
- Ensure good housekeeping and good laboratory practice in the workplace.
- Make sure all relevant raw data or test information is correctly and accurately recorded in the provided raw data sheet or manual log book.
- Adhere to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by upholding good safety behaviour and exercising the necessary standard and process when carrying out responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance with the HSE requirements.
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the reporting manager and / or Senior Management.
Qualifications
Minimum SPM, STPM background education.Minimum 1 year’s laboratory sample preparation experience.Seniority level
