Manager Payroll

Overview

Responsible to oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with statutory regulations, and implementing best practices. Possess strong leadership, analytical skills and expertise in payroll management, taxation, and labour laws. The ideal candidate will drive process improvement, manage a payroll team, and collaborate with HR, Finance and external vendors or auditors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day payroll operations, including payroll processing, allowances, and employee record management.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, local and overseas payroll, including tax filing and reporting.
• Manage year-end payroll activities, including generate EA, E form, Tax audit etc.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Define roles, set performance expectations, and conduct regular reviews.
• Resolve complex payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Optimize payroll process for efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
• Generate payroll reports for management, audits, and financial reporting.
• Ensure data integrity and security in payroll records.
• Liaise with external payroll providers, tax agencies and auditors.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal and other departments on payroll-related matters.
• Ensure internal controls and compliance for payroll operations.
• Lead internal and external payroll audits, address findings and recommend improvement plans.
