Job description

Role Overview :

Responsible for providing specialist planning and scheduling support across all phases of a project. This role develops, maintains, and monitors project schedules, ensures alignment with baselines, and applies corrective or preventative measures to support timely delivery of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and maintain program and project schedules, including summary and detailed plans.
  • Establish baseline schedules, monitor performance against them, and provide variance analysis.
  • Conduct schedule risk and range analysis; participate in workshops and prepare related reports.
  • Review contractor schedules, progress reports, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support sequencing of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities, including resource assignments.
  • Identify critical activities, assess schedule impacts, and communicate mitigation strategies.
  • Track and analyse progress curves, prepare monthly progress updates, and recommend adjustments as required.
  • Integrate schedules from contractors and other functions into a consolidated program schedule, ensuring timely updates.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly dashboards, reports, and executive summaries for project stakeholders.
  • Apply scheduling best practices and utilise standard tools to optimise planning strategies in response to changing project conditions.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to manage expectations, provide feedback, and ensure clear communication.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by embedding new planning methodologies and supporting capability development within the team.

Key requirements :

  • Relevant degree in engineering, business, project management, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Industry preference - Oil & Gas, Engineering, construction.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6 & Aconex or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret multiple data sources.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in capital projects within resources, energy, infrastructure, or heavy industries is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrates accountability, integrity, and a proactive approach to achieving project objectives.
  • Able to work independently while also contributing to team development through coaching and knowledge sharing.
