Job Summary

Serve as the technical focal point for purchasing, project management, and design groups to source alternate low‑cost, high‑quality components. Monitor and resolve problematic component issues directly with manufacturers and communicate status on non‑conforming parts / suppliers across all programs.

Responsibilities

Support Design Engineering, Project Management and Purchasing in identifying, sourcing and implementing new / alternate components that match or exceed performance without compromising quality, achieving total cost savings.
Act as focal person for all quality and functional issues arising from purchased components.
Develop, implement and maintain a “Component Data Module” to identify like components used across programs, standardize description entry for each commodity, and ensure data integrity.
Monitor and drive PPM issues with the supply base, helping achieve “Dock to Stock” certification in accordance with the vendor performance system.
Drive supplier selection strategies to build a supply base that can be leveraged across all customer programs, yielding cost savings.
Proactively communicate information or issues that may impact product costs or manufacturability to all affected departments.
Adhere to all safety, health, and security rules and regulations associated with this position.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Effective presentation and communication skills to interact with managers, clients and customers.

Problem‑solving ability : collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions.

Proficient computer skills, including Windows OS and related software.

Advanced PC skills and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.

Ability to write simple correspondence; read and understand visual aids.

Apply common sense to execute simple instructions and handle standardized situations.

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Basic arithmetic skills and ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
