Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of all business-related financial data that is used by Financial Control, Market Risk, and Credit Risk, Collateral Management, Trading and Sales.
- The Product Control team covers production and reconciliation of daily Trading & Sales P&L and Balance Sheet, PL Attribution, Structured Trade Reviews and Price Testing for Fair Value Adjustments.
- Ensure strong governance and management framework established so that the major deliverables are met in terms of accurate MIS to senior management and front office, regulatory requirements submitted, reconciliations to the books and records of the Group; assists internal and external auditors to ensure smooth completion of audit of Product Control functions.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of accounting and reporting, and that all elements of revenue generation and costs are captured.
- Creation of accurate accounting plans for new products within IFRS guidelines.
- Define and manage a strategy for supporting the Global Markets business by implementing critical control functions.
- Work closely with traders to understand their trading strategies and risks. Build and maintain strong relationships with the front office and understand their expectations of the Global Markets Product Control function.
- Maintain and improve the control environment within Global Markets Trading. This includes reviewing new business opportunities with the business to ensure the control and governance requirements can be delivered and supported.
- Manage the Offshore Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam Branch Global Market business activities, with increased oversight of trading activities, reduce operational inefficiencies, improve controls and mitigate potential operational and regulatory risk.
- Assist in the implementation of strategic projects ensuring successful implementation of key risk management and P&L system enhancements effecting structural change, application of international accounting standards, IFRS disclosures and Basel III reporting requirements.
- Ensure that all Product Control internal controls and procedures are documented and that these procedures and controls are reviewed, maintained and updated regularly.
- Ability to lead and manage the Global Markets Product Control team within a multi system and an unstructured environment.
- Manage time effectively to achieve deliverables.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reporting staff.
Job Holder Requirements :
Malaysian citizen.Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Finance / Accountancy / Banking or equivalent.Professional certification such as ACCA / CPA and / or relevant professional qualifications (e.g. FRM; PRMIA; CFA)is a plus.10 years and aboveexperience in Global Markets and ALM accounting related working experiences.Working knowledge ofGlobal Markets Product Pricing, FTP, Risk Attribution and Basel III.Advanced working knowledge ofMs EXCEL and VBA.
