Legal Manager – GuocoLand Group

We are actively seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Legal Manager to join our team. This is a key role within the legal functions of the Group and offers an exciting opportunity to transition into a dynamic in-house environment where your expertise directly shapes business outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Independently handle all legal matters, manage legal risks and provide legal support to the business, including day-to-day contract review, advisory work, dispute resolution management, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and review legal documentation for property development and investment activities. This covers land acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, appointment of estate agents, consultants, contractors, and service providers, project construction and launches, sale and leasing transactions, and post-development matters for the Group.
- Manage and liaise with stakeholders, external parties, external counsel, regulators, and authorities.
- Represent the company in litigation, tribunal hearings, and other legal proceedings.
- Monitor changes to laws and regulations relevant to the property industry and the Company. Highlight their impact on the company’s business and provide timely advice to business units and the management.
- Assist the Head of Compliance in developing, reviewing, and implementing compliance policies, procedures, programmes, and internal controls and table compliance reports to the Board.
- Develop and maintain an updated depository of contract templates to improve efficiency and consistency across the Group.
- Perform other ad-hoc legal and compliance duties as assigned by the head of department or superior.
Who We're Looking For
Degree in Law from a recognized university.Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Malaysian Bar.Minimum 10 years’ experience in a law firm and / or in-house legal role.Strong background in real estate, construction, conveyancing, and corporate law. Experience to construction and litigation is essential. Experience in regulatory compliance matters will be a added advantage.Excellent analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills.High integrity, resourcefulness, and ability to work independently and provide solutions in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative mindset.Strong command of both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken.Why Join Us
