Mechanical Development Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a customer- and team-oriented Mechanical Development Engineer to join the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division at the Penang site of Comet Plasma Control Technologies. For over 75 years, we have been following our curiosity, driving innovation and sustainable solutions through high-tech components and systems based on X-ray and radio-frequency technology. Our developments contribute to safer, more efficient and more sustainable production, mobility, and communication.

What You Will Do

• Collaboration with suppliers to provide technical support to Purchasing for the transfer to HVM site
• Coordination and definition of drawing-related requirements with existing and new suppliers
• Technical consulting of suppliers to ensure standards-compliant implementation of requirements for vacuum capacitors
• Conducting FAI approvals as R&D representative
• Interface for knowledge transfer from the supplier via Comet Purchasing to the development department for vacuum capacitors
• Support of the SCM department in the selection of suppliers regarding technical feasibility, quality, and cost
• Close cooperation with internal departments (Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing) to ensure a smooth FAI process and its approval by R&D
