Store Manager | M&S IOI City Mall About The Role To be responsible and accountable for the commercial, operations and management of designated store(s) focusing on the following :

Lead, motivate and mentor the team in achieving high levels of performance and productivity.

Maximize sales opportunities, minimize loss of sales opportunity. Achieve the sales target given.

Control stock losses to the minimum level.

Ensure full compliance with company SOPs, policies and procedures, profit protection measures, rules and regulations.

Maintain the highest standard of service following the service model specified by UK principal.

Efficient control of stocks, following up deliveries, shortages and inter-store transfer.

Build a strong sales and service culture within the team / workplace.

Be the auditor of designated store to ensure all processes are carried out following the SOP and guidelines given. Be an effective member of the Store Management Team contributing towards the success of the store via business strategic planning, effective operational management, achieving the sales target and store direct profit while monitoring and controlling store overhead expenses within the budget set.

What You Will Do Generating Sales

Lead team of store / sales managers and supervisors in maximizing sales and commercial opportunities.

Focus on maximizing sales and commercial opportunities in the following areas :

Maximize the sales return per square foot; increase average basket and overall transactions of the responsible business unit.

Efficient preparation / implementation of sales promotion activities.

Seasonal changes in accordance with the seasonal guide and merchandise display to promote a high-quality shopping experience and increase sales.

Analyze sales figures and identify ways to increase sales guided by commercial numbers and on-floor observations.

Use stock management systems to ensure optimum stock availability and efficient logistics (e.g., transfers between WH / store, fitting room stock turnaround, stock receiving).

Implement best practices following the commercial management toolkit to manage the store's commercial aspects.

Lead and motivate the team to achieve daily targets.

Customer Service

Build a service culture that drives the team toward excellent customer service through mentoring, coaching, training needs assessment, motivation, daily briefings, role play, and leading by example.

Achieve company and store customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score targets or above.

Merchandise & Visual Merchandising

Liaise with Merchandising and VM teams to ensure the best mix and high standards of merchandise presentation.

Plan and implement changes to merchandise layouts to maximize returns per square foot.

Ensure sales floor plans are updated and reflect seasonal changes; periodically update floor plans to match sales efficiency.

Implement Basic Stock System and maintain a clean backroom for efficient replenishment.

Ensure orders from the merchandise catalogue are controlled effectively and highlight brand names and themes in departments.

Clear aged and damaged merchandise according to Company policies; manage seasonal clearance with price tagging as per clearance lists.

Operations

Plan and implement staffing resources for maximum efficiency.

Coordinate with support teams to ensure merchandise is ordered, delivered and returned efficiently; maintain correct stock movements (BTF).

Adhere to legal and company regulations and safeguard assets through health and safety, security and premises management.

Regularly liaise with immediate reporting superior on operational matters.

Ensure all operations activities comply at the designated store.

Service Measurements

Analyze Mystery Shop reports to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans. Demonstrate understanding of store themes at BU level and challenge direct reports to drive improvement.

Regularly recognize excellent service in-store with clear communication.

Cost Control

Ensure all administrative documentation and procedures related to financial and stock control are implemented.

Manage stock take preparation / activities and follow up on stock loss investigations.

Ensure staffing resources are productive and cost-efficient.

Set and control budgets for designated areas.

Human Resources

Work with HR to ensure human resources areas are managed efficiently.

Promote effective teamwork through open communication and involvement of all Store Management Team members.

Identify current and future training needs for store personnel and implement relevant programs.

Others

Communicate effectively and foster good relationships with Centre Management.

Contribute to the overall decision-making of the business.

Required Skills To Be Successful

Graduate Degree

Minimum 8 years of experience in the retail industry

Minimum 7 years of experience in team leadership

Good command of spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia

Strong leadership and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Customer-focused mindset

Time management and organizational skills

Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities

Basic financial literacy (budgets, P&L statements)

Computer literacy (POS systems, MS Office, inventory software)
