JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, HR leads and co‑ordinates the overall Human Resources functions, which includes training & development, compensation & benefits and industrial relations for the entire group of SRB.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops organisation strategies by identifying human resources issues and proposing human resource interventions; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organisational strategic thinking and direction. Establishing human resources objectives in line with organisational objectives.

Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action compliance and labour relations.

Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counselling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions. Maintaining compensation equity, implementing HR systems and analysing HR data.

Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources, developing action plans, measuring and analysing results, initiating corrective actions and minimising the impact of variances.

Accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements, evaluating milestone accomplishments, evaluating optional courses of action, changing assumptions and direction.

Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel and decisions; analysing information and applications.

Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organisational values.

Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations.

Enhances department and organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

To perform any other duties as deemed fit to be within the scope of your position and as determined by Management from time to time.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Masters / Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent

EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum 7 to 8 years of managerial role experience in HR management.
  • Previous experience of managing Human Resources team.
  • Previously influenced managers, built strong commercial relationships and driven an HR strategy.
  • HR Manager level – must be comfortable working in a standalone environment.
  • Understanding of all legal implications and ability to resource plan accordingly and comply with legal obligations.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law issues and the ability to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common sense approach.
