YOUR ROLE

You take part in delivering Financial Closing & Reporting activities for global entities within our GBS Record-to-Report Function. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Team Manager to be part of our Financial Closing & Reporting pillar. This role is responsible for managing the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and delivering timely and accurate financial closing and reporting to facilitate and centralise complete end-to-end financial control processes within GBS. The successful candidate will manage a team of accounting professionals, ensure operational deliverables, and serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and deliver month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for assigned entities with timeliness and accuracy by closing deadlines
  • Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial data to facilitate accuracy of effective tax computation between tax accounting and book accounting.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements / reports (P&L, Balance Sheet).
  • Review and analyse the movement of Balance Sheet and P&L month on month and quarter on quarter and ensure the unusual movement or fluctuation of financial balances are identified and addressed
  • Ensure substantiation and validity of the balances in financial statements(P&L, Balance Sheet)
  • Manage intercompany accounting and ensure proper elimination and consolidation entries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS / GAAP) and internal policies.
  • Act as a key liaison with external auditors and tax teams, managing audit schedules and documentation to finalise Financial Statements on due time.
  • Manage and support the documentation of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX)
  • Identify and implement process improvements, standardization, and automation opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of R2R professionals; monitor performance and progress.
  • Liaison with Business Controllers, Tax, Treasury, and other finance functions to support business reporting.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the R2R process and manage the standardization and automation initiatives.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience in a shared service center or multinational corporation is highly preferred
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in financial review / controlling & managerial role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge(IRFS / GAAP) with strong sense of accounting practice
  • Proven experience with financial closing, reporting, and audit coordination in a global or shared services environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exposure to SOX compliance or internal control frameworks
