Soori Penang is seeking a Head Chef to lead the culinary experience at our new 13-suite ultra-luxury heritage property. This is a rare opportunity to help define a new dining identity — one that is intimate, seasonal, and inspired by Penang’s rich culture, expressed through Soori’s hallmark of understated elegance.
As part of a small, dedicated team, the Head Chef will be hands-on in both creation and execution , setting the foundation for a thoughtful and evolving food programme that complements the property’s design-led spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver menus that reflect Soori’s philosophy of authenticity and refinement.
- Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team in daily operations.
- Maintain the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
- Manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationships with a focus on quality and sustainability.
- Shape and refine the culinary direction as the property grows.
Who We’re Looking For
Experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Head Chef in boutique hotels, resorts, or fine dining environments.Creative and grounded, with strong fundamentals and a passion for flavour and presentation.Hands-on, detail-oriented, and collaborative, comfortable in a dynamic small-team environment.Enthusiastic about building a distinctive culinary journey that complements Soori’s ultra-luxury guest experience.How to Apply
