Job description

A leading global bank is seeking an experienced Automation Testing Chapter Lead to drive quality engineering practices across its digital platforms. This role combines hands-on test automation expertise with leadership of engineering teams.

In a nutshell : We're looking for a test automation strategist + people leader + hands-on technologist, able to both set the vision and get into the weeds when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of automated testing for web, mobile, and APIs.
  • Embed best practices in test automation, CI / CD, and quality assurance across squads.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to chapter members, ensuring upskilling and capability building.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage, traceability, and risk management.
  • Drive innovation in automation frameworks, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and release quality.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience in QA and test automation, preferably in the banking / financial services sector.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript, with hands-on expertise in tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Cypress.
  • Experience with API testing (Postman, JMeter, SoapUI) and service virtualization.
  • Proficiency in CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ADO).
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies, BDD frameworks, and test data management.
  • Proven leadership in managing teams, building technical capabilities, and aligning testing strategies to business goals.
