We are currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven Country Manager / Managing Director to lead our operations in Malaysia , based in Klang . This is a unique opportunity for a senior logistics professional to oversee and drive our growth and performance in this key market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement the country’s business strategy in alignment with global and regional goals, with a strong focus on revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
  • Operational Oversight : Supervise all freight forwarding operations including air , ocean , and ground transport , ensuring efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.
  • Commercial Development : Lead and drive commercial activities, managing and expanding high-value client relationships and securing new business opportunities.
  • Carrier & Vendor Relations : Negotiate contracts and build long-term partnerships with ocean and air carriers, ground transportation providers, and warehousing services.
  • Financial Management : Take full P&L ownership, oversee budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and reporting.
  • Team Leadership : Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Standards : Ensure operations meet all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) standards, as well as legal and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
  • Proven leadership experience in a senior or country management role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a successful track record in sales leadership and key account management .
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements within the freight forwarding sector.

    • Key Competencies & Attributes

  • Fluency in English and Malay, other regional languages a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience dealing with international carriers.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehousing and distribution services.
  • Outstanding communication , organizational , and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with the capacity to drive team performance.
  • High level of self-motivation , ownership, and commitment to delivering results.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and solve problems effectively under pressure.
