Job descriptionHigh school diploma or equivalent qualification. Proven experience as a storekeeper or in a similar inventory-related role. Basic proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with inventory management software. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing stock.
Job Summary
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the daily operations of the store, including the receiving, storing, and issuing of goods. This role requires a high degree of organization and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management and a smooth workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Accurately record all stock movements, including incoming and outgoing goods, in the inventory management system.
- Organize and store inventory in a secure, clean, and accessible manner.
- Prepare and issue goods to relevant departments or individuals based on approved requisitions.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with system records.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to management immediately.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and security of the storage area.
