Senior Engineer - AI Research & Cybersecurity at PayNet (Payments Network Malaysia).

What You’ll Do

You’ll help design and implement our Secure AI Development Framework (SADF) —a blueprint for building trustworthy AI systems. Your work will focus on fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) for cybersecurity use cases, building resilient AI pipelines, and deploying agentic applications securely on AWS and OnPrem environments. You’ll collaborate with senior specialists to ensure our AI systems meet the highest standards of robustness, privacy, and compliance.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Secure AI Development : Contribute to SADF artefacts : requirements, test harnesses, compliance checklists, and reproducibility standards (MLflow / DVC).
• Integrate robustness checks, bias detection, and privacy safeguards into AI workflows.
• Support audits and reviews to ensure SADF compliance.
• Research adversarial AI techniques and propose enhancements.
• AI Model Development & Fine-Tuning : Fine-tune LLMs for cybersecurity use cases like threat detection and anomaly detection.
• Apply transfer learning, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
• Ensure models meet robustness, fairness, and privacy standards.
• Cloud & Production Deployment : Build and deploy AI models on AWS and OnPrem (Ollama).
• Develop CI / CD pipelines with security guardrails.
• Monitor deployed models for drift, performance, and compliance.
• Application & Integration : Build secure APIs using FastAPI for model integration.
• Develop front-end prototypes with React for operational visibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed AI into cybersecurity systems.
• Collaboration & Compliance : Work closely with senior engineers to align with SADF guidelines.
• Partner with compliance and risk teams to meet regulatory standards.
• Document processes for auditability and reproducibility.
