About the role
The accountant’s role is responsible for managing financial data input for the company. This role involves supporting the preparation of financial statements, examining and analysing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, tax regulations, internal policies and procedures.
This role reports to Senior Finance Manager.
As the Senior Accountant, you will :
Monthly accounts closing, Tax & Reporting
Undertake the preparation of the monthly closing of accounts and submission of financial reporting (monthly) to Senior Finance Manager first, then to APAC Headquarter (Regional)
Monitor and analyse profitability against budget / costing and overhead expenses
Support HOD in addressing responses to APAC Headquarter (Regional) FP&A for any question on monthly financial performance (cost variance, etc)
Assist to implement internal control procedures for better cost monitoring
Responsible for Year-end closing activities :
Plan the accounting year-end closing
Liaising with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretary
Review the financial statements and CT tax returns in coordination with auditors / tax agents
Ensure accounting principles and rules are understood and applied by the accounting team (revenue recognition / cut-off on sales / purchases)
Support the yearly budget and forecast with the Senior Finance Manager and team members
Day-to-Day Cash Management
Monitor cash position and support Senior Finance Manager to optimise current cash position
Preparation of vendor payment through internet banking portal
Prepare forecast short term cash flows to be submitted to Head of Finance and imported in Group Treasury system (Kyriba)
Performs customer credit evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
About you
The ideal Senior Accountant :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience : 5 years of experience in accounting or a related area.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Meticulous and proficient in MS office especially in MS Excel
Efficient, hardworking and positive work attitude
Good English writing and speaking
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to organize / allocate / delegate efficiently tasks to the team but also able to show being very hands-on
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work in an international Group
