Junior Virtualization Data Protection Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Junior Virtualization Data Protection Engineer to join our IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with hands-on VMware experience or Veeam Backup & Replication to grow their skills in virtualization and IT infrastructure. You will support the management and maintenance of our VMware environment under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of VMware vSphere environments.
Monitor and troubleshoot virtual machines, ESXi hosts, and vCenter Server.
Support backup, recovery, and patching of virtual infrastructure.
Collaborate with the IT team to ensure system performance and reliability.
Document processes and maintain accurate system records.

Value Added

Assist in the installation, configuration, and management of Veeam Backup & Replication environments.

Perform and monitor backup, restore, and replication tasks for virtual and physical systems.

Troubleshoot basic issues related to Veeam backups and infrastructure.

Support disaster recovery testing and documentation.

Collaborate with the IT team to ensure data availability and system reliability.

Maintain accurate records of backup schedules and processes.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

1-2 years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, or vCenter (internships or projects count).

Basic understanding of virtualization concepts and IT infrastructure.

Familiarity with Windows / Linux server administration is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Certifications like VMware Certified Associate (VCA) or VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) are a bonus but not mandatory.

Value Added

1-2 years of hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication (internships, projects, or entry-level roles count).

Basic knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V).

Familiarity with Windows / Linux server environments is a plus.

Certifications like Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) or Veeam Technical Associate are a bonus but not required.
