Project Management and Cross Functional Coordination, including KPIs and Hoshin
- Lead NPI supply chain program planning and execution of deliverables for a given product, technology development and / or key component. This includes project planning, schedule / status updates, ensuring required deliverables are completed on time, proactively identifying risks and mitigation plans, and managing issues to resolution.
- Lead cross-functional teams / activities to ensure the component sourcing is aligned to the sourcing plan for the product and ultimately the internal global commodity strategy. Where new suppliers are identified; lead activities to onboard them, which includes alignment with the global commodity strategy team.
- Coordination and ongoing alignment of supply vs demand with suppliers, contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites
- Lead dashboard and metric updates
- Project planning and coordination of internal non-product initiatives
Sourcing Strategy and Supply Chain Risk Mitigation
Develop the sourcing strategy for a given product, technology development and / or key componentLead multi and non-geopolitical sourcing strategies, to mitigate supply riskIdentify and lead supply chain risk mitigation activities, such as contract establishment, safety stock plans…etc.Ensure sourcing strategies meet or exceed expectations (quality, delivery, cost) and are aligned with the Business Unit (PLMs, Eng. PMs), Commodity Managers, Quality and Engineering.Coordinate supplier onboardingContribute to Speed Design Reviews (SDRs) as they relate to the sourcing strategyMaterial Cost Establishment and Management, DfM and DfC
Develop and maintain material cost roadmaps for given product, technology development and / or key componentComponent and BOM analysis to identify cost avoidance and reduction opportunities through the development process. This can include but is not limited to; supplier negotiation, setting proper allocations and MOQs, recommending component selection or design changes.Contribute to Speed Design Reviews (SDRs) as they relate to the material costFacilitate early engagement between suppliers and the Lumentum Engineering to drive manufacturability, repeatability, cost, and lead time improvements.NPI Program Regional Support
Work closely with NPI Supply Chain colleagues primarily in the Americas to understand NPI supply chain needs and / or gaps and support as necessarySupport localization activities as they relate to NPI programsItem Setup, Procurement and Logistics
Coordinate the execution or part setups in the system (warehouse assignments, item pricing)Monitoring purchase orders, communicate with Buyers / suppliers and elevate as necessaryManage NPI material flow and transactions between sites / warehouse locations and CMsMaterial Planning and Change Management
Align material drive to NPI build and production ramp plansDevelopment and manage risk buys and material ramp plans internally and with CMsManage the material impact and disposition resulting from revision, AML and BOM updatesSupport split or qual matrix build plans as necessaryMaterial Execution, Build Planning & Scheduling with CMs
Monitor and take appropriate action to help resolve material / build execution plans that are less than optimal to support NPI or ramp plansUnderstand where capacity constraints to build and ramp plans exists, raise awareness and support solutions to remove constraintsLead ramp plans activities with CMProduction Transfer and E&O Disposition
Ensure material drive supports the product ramp, enabling smooth transition to the production demand management teamIdentify and support the disposition of any NPI material / E&O with the Contract Manufactures and the Lumentum Site(s)Key Relationships
