This role reports to Head of Concessions and is responsible to grow sustainable concessions revenue through :
1. Develop dynamic movie and non-movie merchandise segment through sourcing and deliver ultimate merchandising set up to boost customer engagement, increase concession spending, and enhance the overall cinema experience for moviegoers.
2. Strategically curate GTM, sale packages, identify & promote merchandise to boost attendance and drive additional sales through channels and assets.
3. Devise strategic collaboration programs with corporate partners to target their customer base through enticing merchandise promotions.
Key Responsibilities
To drive sustainable growth in concessions revenue through strategic merchandise sourcing, effective promotions, and agile execution across teams.
- Adopt a customer-centric approach by gaining a deep understanding of your target audience’s needs and preferences, using surveys and feedback to guide merchandising and promotional decisions.
- Source and select merchandise strategically by staying updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to ensure alignment with brand identity and evolving demand.
- Lead integrated marketing execution by collaborating with relevant departments to activate concession initiatives, contributing to broader marketing discussions and ensuring alignment through the Go-To-Market (GTM) process.
- Manage inventory levels effectively to maintain optimal stock, preventing overstocking and stockouts that could impact sales and customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure high-quality products and favorable terms that support profitability and operational consistency.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability, while managing budgets to ensure cost-efficiency and return on investment.
- Enhance visual merchandising to create an appealing and engaging shopping experience that supports product visibility and drives customer conversion.
- Lead and mentor merchandise teams with adaptability by aligning buyers, planners, and staff to company goals, while remaining agile and responsive to shifting customer preferences and market dynamics.
Requirements & Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a relevant qualification and over 5 years of experience in merchandising. They excel in merchandise sourcing, product launches, and logistics, with exposure to local and international markets. A customer-focused mind-set, strong retail and financial skills, and bilingual communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential.
Required :
A Diploma, Degree, or Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in merchandising, retail management, brand / product marketing, or supply chain and sourcing.Strong background in consumer merchandise sourcing and product launching logistics, with experience in both local and international organizations.Customer-centric mind-set with strong retailing knowledge.Sound financial acumen.Proficient communication and presentation skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.Preferred (Bonus Skills) :
